Roll bar mount
Also known as: tube mount, bar clamp mount, roll cage mount
A clamp that fixes a camera to round tubing such as a roll cage, UTV bars, a boat tower or a quad frame, for steady vehicle and off-road angles.

What it means
Roll bar mounts are clamps sized for thick tubes, typically from a few centimeters up to the diameter of a roll cage. They grip tubing on off-road vehicles, buggies, side-by-sides, quads, race cars and boat towers, and hold the camera with standard mounting fingers or a ball head.
Because they bolt around the tube, they are much more secure than suction cups or adhesive on rough terrain. That makes them the go-to option for off-road driving, rally stages and wake boats, where vibration and impacts would shake weaker mounts loose.
A roll bar mount can point inside at the driver or outside at the terrain, wheels or the rider behind the boat.
How it works in practice
Clamp onto a straight section of tube and tighten evenly so the clamp does not rotate under load. Rubber inserts improve grip and reduce vibration. A short extension arm keeps the camera stable, while long arms amplify shake.
Popular angles include a view over the driver shoulder through the windshield, a low side view of the front wheel in mud and water, and a rear view of the trail behind. On boats, a mount on the tower films the rider at the end of the rope, much like a boom mount.
Add a tether to the frame for every outside mount, since even a strong clamp can fail after a hard impact.
What to watch out for
Engine and chassis vibration can create jello and blurry footage. Use strong stabilization, a fast shutter, and try different positions on the cage, since some tubes vibrate much more than others.
Mud, dust and water coat outside-facing lenses quickly off road. A lens protector, a quick wipe between stages and a hydrophobic coating help keep the shot usable.
Make sure the camera and arm do not interfere with the driver, seat belts or safety equipment, and that nothing can hit occupants in a rollover. Safety always comes before the shot.
How RawClip handles it
RawClip does not stabilize vibration, so a solid roll bar mount pays off. Upload clips from every angle on the vehicle, and the AI picks the most exciting moments of the day for one highlight.
