Strava
Also known as: activity tracking, ride log
An activity tracking platform where rides and runs get logged, and where footage increasingly sits alongside the data from the same session.

What it means
Strava records the activity rather than the video. A ride arrives as a route, a time and a set of segments, and a clip attached to it is supporting evidence rather than the point.
The overlap with filming is the telemetry. Speed, elevation and position describing a session are the same quantities a Telemetry overlay puts on screen, from a different recording of the same ride.
The audience is specific and useful. People who follow a rider here care about the route and the effort, which is a different interest from the audience for a highlight.
How it works in practice
Attaching a short clip works better than a full edit. A single moment from the ride alongside the data says more here than a complete Session edit would, because the data is already the story.
The two recordings describe the same session. A camera and a tracker running together produce footage and a route that can be matched by time, which makes finding a moment easy.
Cross-referencing saves review time. Knowing from the data where the fast section was points straight at the part of the card worth watching, which is a Markers substitute of a sort.
What to watch out for
Position data is more revealing than most people consider. A route that starts at somebody house is public information the moment it is posted, and the same applies to a GPMF telemetry track in a clip.
It is not a video platform. Playback, compression and discovery are all afterthoughts here, so anything meant to be watched belongs on a platform built for watching.
Matching clock drift is fiddly. A camera clock and a phone clock are very rarely identical, and a few seconds of offset makes a precise match more annoying than it sounds.
How RawClip handles it
Telemetry present in uploaded footage is read where it exists, since speed and position help distinguish a travelling shot from a stationary one. A tracker log on a separate platform is not part of that and stays useful on its own separate terms.
