Insta360 Studio
Also known as: Insta360 desktop app, Insta360 Studio app
The free Insta360 desktop app for stitching, stabilizing and reframing 360 footage and exporting it as standard flat or spherical MP4 video.

What it means
Insta360 Studio is the official computer app for Insta360 cameras, available for Windows and macOS. It opens the native INSV files, stitches the two fisheye images into one sphere, and applies FlowState stabilization and horizon leveling using the motion data the camera recorded.
From there you either export the full 360 video for platforms that support it, or reframe it into a normal flat clip. Studio is a processing and reframing tool rather than a full multi-track editor: it prepares clips very well, and most creators finish the story in another app.
How it works in practice
A typical session: drag the card folder into Studio, scrub a clip, add keyframes where the view should change, and use Deep Track to lock onto a rider so the virtual camera follows them. You can set FOV, switch between view styles such as natural or tiny planet, and fine-tune color and stitching before export.
For export, choose H.264 for compatibility or H.265 for smaller files at high resolution, and set a 16:9 frame for a widescreen edit. A 5.7K sphere usually yields a clean 1080p or a usable 4K flat clip. Batch export lets you queue a whole day of reframed clips and leave the computer working overnight.
What to watch out for
Studio leans heavily on the graphics card, and older laptops can stutter during playback or take a long time to export high-resolution material. Close other heavy apps, keep graphics drivers updated, and use the lower-quality preview while keyframing.
Keep the camera folders intact. On some models each recording is split into one file per lens, and Studio also uses the LRV proxies for smooth previews, so renaming or moving pieces separately can break stitching. And check the export format: a file left as a 2:1 equirectangular sphere looks like a stretched panorama in any normal editor.
How RawClip handles it
RawClip relies on Insta360 Studio or the Insta360 mobile app for the 360 step, because it does not read INSV files directly. Reframe and export flat MP4 or MOV clips in Studio, then upload them to RawClip with footage from any other cameras, and the AI turns the set into one highlight cut to music.
