Enduro battery
Also known as: GoPro Enduro, cold-weather battery
A GoPro battery with improved chemistry for cold weather and longer runtime, made for recent HERO cameras that often lose charge fast on cold days.

What it means
Lithium batteries lose capacity in the cold, and action cameras often run in snow, wind and early mornings, which is why short battery life is one of the most common complaints. GoPro introduced the Enduro battery with a chemistry designed to hold voltage better at low temperatures and to run longer overall than the earlier standard battery for the same camera generation.
In practice that means fewer cameras shutting down halfway up a ski lift, and more recording time on long rides. It is compatible with several recent HERO models, and newer cameras ship with it by default, so many owners already have one without knowing the name.
How it works in practice
Even with a better battery, cold still matters. Keep spares in an inside pocket close to your body, swap them on the lift instead of in the wind, and put a warm battery in just before recording. A dual charger in the car or hotel keeps a rotation going through a long trip.
Settings make a big difference to runtime. High frame rates, maximum resolution, Wi-Fi, GPS and bright screens all draw extra power. Turning off what you do not need, and using QuikCapture so the camera is off between runs, often adds more time than any battery upgrade.
What to watch out for
Old batteries swell and lose capacity over time, and a slightly swollen one can jam in the camera or make poor contact. Retire batteries that bulge, get hot or die much faster than others, and stick to genuine or well-reviewed replacements, because cheap clones may report charge levels wrongly.
Do not fully drain and store batteries for months either. Store them partly charged in a cool place. Before a big trip, test every battery in the camera with your usual settings, so you know how many runs you really get rather than trusting the rated figure. Summer brings the opposite problem, since a hot camera may overheat before the battery is empty.
How RawClip handles it
Battery choice does not change how your clips are handled. However many batteries you go through, upload all the clips from the day in one order, and RawClip cuts the best moments into a single highlight.
